Horray for HoggywoodThe LaSalle County Wild Hog Cook-off and County Fair  has become one of the largest attractions in the community on the second weekend in March each year (from Thursday through Sunday) and draws chefs from near and far with the lure of prizes in various categories.

This year, our Theme is “Horray for Hoggywood.”

The Official 2016 WHCO T-Shirts below is available at the LaSalle 2016 LaSalle County Fair and Wild Hog Cook-off T-ShirtsCounty Fair Office at 300 Engineer Lane, Cotulla, TX, and at the LaSalle County Fair and Wild Hog Cook-Off.

You can enjoy parades, sample foods, pursue crafts, and support your favorite candidate at the Queen’s, Little Mr & Miss, or Pet Parade Contests. You can cheer on youngsters at the Livestock Show or winners of the Food Show Contest.

Wild rides, thrills and spills are in store for those spectators Sunday afternoon, as it is known as the rowdiest ranch rodeo south of the Frio River, and this culminates the end of the LaSalle County Fair and Wild Hog Cook-Off.

The cooking gets really wild with cooks from far and wide matching wits with their own special recipes in the Wild Hog Cook-Off or showing off their artistic and presentation skills in the Showmanship and Presentation contests. More…

Food show winner

The popular Food Show for the county fair is held in the Exhibition Hall during the fair each year on Friday. Cooks enter their foods Friday morning and judges examine and taste them. This event helps to generate funds for the association with food entries in adult, youth and canned goods categories.  More…

Little Mr. & Miss

Little Miss Winner

Judges will be judging all little girls who dream of being a princess in the Little Miss Contest. Young girls, aged Pre-K through Kindergarten, are judged to represent the community during the fair and the next year along with little boys of the same age who dream of being given the title of Little Mr. LaSalle.  More…

Miss La Salle County Fair Queen Contest Winners

Judges also chose the young woman they want to represent the city of Cotulla and LaSalle County for the next year. The annual Queen’s contest is open to High School girls active in the fair and willing to dedicate their time to promoting the community and presenting awards throughout the Wild Hog Cook-Off weekend.  [Read more…]

Pet Parade

The Pet Parade is held on Thursday afternoon during the cook-off weekend  and provides younger children in the community the opportunity to show off their favorite pet. Children ages 1 through 5th grade are asked to bring that special pet in costume to show off any tricks, etc. [Read more…]
